Simon brings a hybrid background across venture investing, product strategy, and technical evaluation shaped by years of working directly with early stage founders. Before joining GCV, Simon served as a Vice President at Relay Ventures, where he sourced and supported high growth technology companies while working closely with leadership teams on product roadmaps, go to market decisions, and organizational structure. During his time at Relay he also held board roles across companies including Train Fitness, HomeTeam Live, Alt Sports Data, Mave, Woveo, and The Curling Group, which gave him broad visibility into the operational challenges teams face as they scale.
He began his career in Investment Banking at Citi with a focus on cross border M&A for clients such as CPPIB and Brookfield. That experience provided him with a strong analytical foundation and a disciplined approach to evaluating financial, strategic, and technical decisions. He holds an Honours Business Administration degree from the Ivey Business School.
